Chocolate & Curls.....Life doesn't get any sweeter

DC Web Design

by Denise Conroy

First let me say that Website Design is a hobby for me and I enjoy it very much. My husband and I own a custom Embroidery business, OMD Embroidery & Imprinting which how & why I started building websites back in 2000.

The sites I have designed are geared towards being "google-icious" meaning extremely google friendly for the best rankings possible, and ease in use for the viewer. Having said that, my sites are simple compared to some but classy in their own right. My own personal pet pieve is a site that is so overdone, it takes forever to download and is just too busy. I want the sites I design to be effective. My focus is to invite you in, and let the experience be so enjoyable, you stay a while.

I didn't set out to become a website designer; it fell into my lap out of pure necessity to get our Embroidery Company (OMD Embroidery) online & useful. After spending countless dollars on website companies and scams/search engine optimizers and the like, (& getting zero results, mind you), my husband and I felt it was time to take matters into our own hands. It was through building our own business website that I learned exactly what it takes to make a productive, useful and well designed website. It took years of researching and more of dollars spent before I started to understand this very complicated industry. It's one thing to have it look pretty and be easy to navigate, but an entirely diffferent thing to learn what the search engines require. A few mistakes and bad coding and your site will never be found to those searching. For us with our embroidery business, this meant sink or swim.

With alot at stake, we sought out as much advice as possible. Through the grace of God we stumbled upon a man whose advice was the turning point in making everything "click." OMD Embroidery is now ranking in the top 2-3 pages with most of our key words! Curly Horse Country is ranking on page 1! (another hobby of mine) I believe most people seeking a website designer are wanting more than a pointer website. They want one that ranks well to build new clientel.

From this experience, I couldn't help but want to help others who were struggling with their websites.

At this time, I edit seven websites. I am efficient at what I do and those that work with me can trust I will make updates within 24-48 hours. As I said, I got into this because of our own frustration with web designers and expensive edit fees and long waits on updates. If I am going to offer this service I want to offer a service I would pay for. I dedicate part of each day to building/editing websites and the rest of the time I work for our own company, OMD Embroidery. But because of my extreme love of designing websites, I am happy to offer my services to anyone interested.

Below are just a sample of my latest websites. I am most proud of the these which were designed to be google friendly.
